So, thus far we are all aware that the 6th MotorStorm is:

a) canned

b) held off for at least ten or so more years

But here's something I bet you didn't know.

Yeah, that's right, this new MotorStorm "4" is going to essentially be a revamped Apocalypse with futuristic vehicles. For me there's no doubt in my mind that I will purchase this game if they go through with it (so long as they ditch the motion comics), but I can tell you that when playing it I will essentially mentally separate the MotorStorm brand from the game when playing it.

This is not MotorStorm, no matter how much they pretty it up, or how good it will be, it will never be Motorstorm. It's as if they threw the setting of the DIrt series into the world of Tron; sure it'll be as fun game, but there's no #$@% way that it's going to be CM's DIrt, whether or not they splatter the name on the game case. You can't make that big of a transition in a game and expect your fanbase to go through with it, there's just no sense in it. Of course, with the making of Apocalypse, MotorStorm certainly has picked up a fair amount of 14, year-old fans; suprise, suprise. So all in all, great game idea, but not MotorStorm, that's it, no ifs, ands, or buts.

Well, at least Pendulum can take an opportunity with this, after all, both they and South Central have essentially moved over to the Dubstep world. That is if they're even still making music when this finally comes out.
