Ozutsu Ronin.

The Ozutsu Ronin is a Rally Car featured in MotorStorm and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift. Its defining feature is its unique rear spoiler.

A newer model of the Ronin, the Ronin MkIV, is featured in MotorStorm: Apocalypse.

Resemblance[]

The Ronin is a stereotypical rallying-prepared saloon car, in the mould of the Subaru Impreza and the Ford Escort RS Cosworth. but somehow the tail lights resembles from the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII

Trivia[]

  • It also appears in MotorStorm RC as a scaled-down R/C car.
  • One of this vehicle's liveries in Pacific Rift features a license plate that reads "RALLY X".
  • In Pacific Rift, the Ronin was unlocked by earning the "Competitor" trophy. However, owing to the shutting down of the Pacific Rift servers, this vehicle is now impossible to unlock. Like the Nörd Viking, this effectively makes it a Monument Valley-exclusive vehicle for those who don't have the trophy.
  • In MotorStorm, it is possible that the Ronin was either the replacement vehicle, or updated version of the Unknown Rally Car, due to the fact that the Ronin appears on multiple unoptimized builds of the game, as well as trailers that showcase this car in a visually similar livery as the Unknown Rally Car.
  • There's a camo livery which has the word 'Hunter' written on it, which is labeled as rallycar04_LV10 in the code. It is likely that the Joshua Kirkland drives this car by mistake: an actual driver named Hunter is also present in the game, but she is set to drive the Wulff Revo, which is labeled as rallycar05_LV10.
  • In MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Reverend Black ("Motoroil" livery), Russell Scott (black/blue "Shinji" livery) and Flameboy (white/green livery) are the AI characters seen driving this vehicle.
    • It is also interesting to note that these same three drivers also drive the three Nord Vikings in their respective liveries.
  • In MotorStorm, a slightly damaged version of this car with the Crazy Samurai livery can be seen in a background cinematic being towed by a truck back to the festival.
    • Its spoiler (connected only on the left side) bobs up and down as its towed and if one looks closely, will notice the right side will clip through the roof.
    • Just before the scene fades to a different view of the festival, It's rear bumper (already falling off) gets torn off and left behind as it's dragged across the dirt.
