A true test of skill, the winding drybed of long-gone streams, the flat-out stretch of desert floor and the sudden threat of rocky outcroppings test high-speed racers to their limits.

Sidewinder Gulch is a track in MotorStorm. Its name is derived by the side-winding nature of a snake. Numerous vehicle classes can be raced effectively on this course, owing to the diverse terrain ranging from flat firm rock (suitable for Rally Cars), through to deep, muddy gulleys, which suit the heavier classes like Mud Pluggers and Big Rigs.

"Now Or Never" - Mudpluggers - "Last time on the Gulch it was all about keeping out of the mud. This time keep in it. Simple."
"The Curse" - Rally Cars - "In amongst all of the routes on this big ol' track, the Rally Car can cut a golden path through the Sidewinder - find it, stick to it, win."
"Hold Sway" - Big Rigs - "Sidewinder Gulch is a big mother of a track. There is something in there for everyone, you just gotta look for it."
"Crossed Out" - Rally Cars - "The track routes get faster form right to left, but that isn't the whole picture. The faster you are, the more careful you need to be with your choice of route. Go figure!"
"Heatwave" - Bikes - "Sidewinder is another track with lots of cunning short-cuts that the Bike loves. Memorize them on this track if you've that kind of mental power."
"Bridge Racer" - Bikes - "Bikes are the fastest at acceleration - especially when you boost. They hate mud, but love anything hard. Just don't expect a double-entendre."
"Bugged Out" - Buggies - "Don't always look for the shortest distance on Sidewinder - the best routes are cleverer than that. Follow your nose, enjoy the ride, but stay out of the river bed if you can!"
"The Meatgrinder" - Rally Cars - "Can you remember that golden path for the Rally Car on this track? No? Me neither. But I've got an excuse - I have no short-term memory. It's the medication."
"Easy Rider" - Buggies - "There's nothing easy about this race - it features all the light vehicles and will be heavy on the pain. The natural ramp near the start will give you a good head start so long as you get a good run up, and don't over-cook it."

Devil's Weekend Event[]

"Powdered Bones And Snakeskin" - Any Class - "Starting this weekend's festival off with a scream, the organizers have scheduled a real bone-shredder of a MotorStorm, being held for the first time ever on Sidewinder Gulch. 2 Laps, choose your ride. Chaos and Carnage are just moments away..."

Trivia[]

This becomes the fourth track in Monument Valley to hold a "MotorStorm" race on (one in which the player can choose any vehicle), thanks to the Devil's Weekend DLC (the other three being The Grizzly, Coyote Revenge and Devil's Crossing).
