Good herb

This luxury retreat houses some of the most prestigious homes in the whole city. Featuring great views, leisurely switchback drives up the island and sprints along bridges, through tunnels and around beaches, Good Herb provides a real variety of tactics for racers.

"Yeah, I like this place, I might stay a while..." - Chronic

- Festival Card #095

Good Herb is one of the playable tracks featured in MotorStorm: Apocalypse. The main segments of the track consist of a double-decker bridge, as well as the nearby shore and a tunnel. What is unique about track variations on the bridge is the fact that a majority of the bridge is two-way, meaning head-on collisions are possible (though the bridge is structured to mitigate this risk). It is worth noting that some variations of the track do not use the bridge at all, but simply drive around and below it.

Destruction and Hazards[]

Bridge to Nowhere[]

  • The bridge deck is a two-way track segment. The ramps help reduce the likelihood of head-on crashes, but the player should still keep an eye up ahead for oncoming racers.
  • A landslide will occur at the turn off of the bridge on the second lap.
  • The lighthouse after the the landslide collapses on the second lap. The light part of the lighthouse will block part of the road on later laps, but will be moved out of the way on other Good Herb tracks.
  • The upper deck of tunnel collapses on the second lap. part of the road on the right side will not collapse, which has a card you can collect if you jump off with proper timing.
  • The bridge deck near the island will drop a few feet on the second lap.

Double Decker[]

  • DuskLite presence.

Buena Vista[]

  • DuskLite will destroy the bridge before the first lap, causing a tanker trailer to bounce across the track. You can wreck if you touch the trailer, so be careful.
  • DuskLite storms the beach near the bridge.
  • Just before the second lap, the bridge collapses further, narrowing the passage underneath. This only happens on Festival Mode. That part of the bridge has already collapsed before the race starts if outside of Festival Mode.
  • After passing under the still-standing section of the bridge on the second lap, a helicopter will crash and block one part of the fork.
  • A missile will destroy a house on the S-curve during the third lap.
  • As the first-place racer is about to jump off the bridge during the third lap, a helicopter will fire a missile at the end of the bridge, causing it to cripple. This is another Festival Mode exclusive.

A Bridge Too Far[]

  • The collapsed bridge area has two intersections, one on each deck, where the track meets itself and racers could encounter side collisions.

Trivia[]

  • In Double Decker in Festival mode, there is a helicopter gunship that will constantly fire at the race leader's vehicle, making it difficult (and unwise) to hold the lead for a long time.
  • There is a bug where if the player chooses to do a time trial with a Monster Truck on the "Double Decker" version the player will spawn farther away from the normal spawn point, resulting in the game turning the player around prematurely and running into the wall, and possibly, over the edge of the bridge. This bug is not present when doing a normal race.
  • "Good herb" is slang for cannabis. In addition to this, the area where Good Herb takes place based on the real world is known for its widespread cannabis use.
  • On the "Buena Vista" version of this track, it is possible to use the remnants of the bridge as a makeshift ramp to get on top of the leftover bridge. You will get reset almost instantly though. This glitch is accomplished most easily when driving a SuperMini or an ATV.
  • Good Herb's real location is heavily seen in Treasure Island in San Francisco.
